Construction

They have finally begun the remodeling of the outside of our complex because of the damage incurred by the hail storm last August.  It's only been 8 months waiting.  They started with the roof.  Ours is finally all done.  It was just  a tiny bit annoying.  There was debris everywhere while they were working and of course all the banging and hammering and ripping off old shingles.  There was one thing that made it endurable.  It was 26 pounds of an ecstatic little construction truck lovin', brown-eyed, blondee.   He was excited about what was going on, but enamored by their "backwards crane" as he calls it, that helped load the packages of shingles onto the roof.  

The truck started out on the other end of our building, and Dex was at the screen door watching their every move.

Then the magic happened at it came RIGHT IN FRONT OF OUR DOOR!

He was just a little excited.

Jules was asleep, so we went outside and watched it

I think the men got a kick out of Dex.  They kept waving and smiling and when the truck left, the driver honked just for Dexter and waved to him.  He was in heaven!

When the truck was done at our building, Dex frantically went inside and grabbed the closest truck he had to what he just saw, his tow truck.  He began to play and made it's hauling parts act just like "the backwards crane".   He also kept glancing over at the real truck, at the next building, to make sure he was doing it right.

Such a sweet boy.  He brings so much life and laughter into our home.  He is always a good reminder as to what simple joys are to be had, even in the midst of chaos.  He makes my heart so happy.
